In the absence of Paravasu, Vishakha is sexually exploited by her father-in-law and easily succumbs to the seduction of Yavakri. Phoenix,the experimental theatre group ends it with a rendition and chanting of Datta, Damyata, Dayadhwam The mythical and symbolic plan of The Fire and The Rain is so designed as it links in its structural with the original myth of Mahabharatha for displaying Indian ethos and modern apathy towards human relationship.
